A Few of My Favourite Things (AKA Free Canadian Prospect Research Resources) – Part 2

As I listed in my previous post (A Few of My Favourite Things (AKA Free Canadian Prospect Research Resources) – Part 1), free prospect research resources can offer a wealth of information to both prospect researchers and their fundraising team.  In that post I listed three of my favourite free resources, here are some more:

  1. Compensation Disclosure Lists: Due to The Compensation Disclosure Act requires provincial and municipal bodies (departments, crown corps, school boards, etc.) to release the names and positions of employees making over $50,000 per year. Many compensation disclosure reports can be found online – The Manitoba Health Annual Report and Winnipeg Regional Health Authority Schedule of Compensation are two of my favourites.
  2. LinkedIn.com: A great source of employment and education information. The common rule when it comes to the ethics of using such sites is that you do not become connected with someone in order to access information. Using the information publicly available is fine.
  3. Globe and Mail Appointments: Listings of recent Board and Company appointments in Canada. A great way to find out what your constituents are up to! (Manitoba Movers, published each week in The Winnipeg Free Press, is a similar source for Manitobans).

I hope you enjoy checking out these free prospect research resources and have fun compiling your own lists.
